Academic Calendar

The Kennedy-King College academic year is divided into two eighteen week semesters: fall, beginning in late August and ending just before Christmas, and spring, from mid January to mid May. The summer session is an eight week term (late June through early August).

Course Load and Credit Hours

The credit hour is the unit by which the college measures course work and calculates tuition charges. Most courses meet for three instructional hours a week and carry three semester hours credit. Students enrolled for twelve or more credit hours are considered full time. A course load of eleven hours or less is part time. Kennedy-King College reserves the right to restrict students to less than full time programs, or to assign students to specific courses on the basis of placement test results, a review of students' previous academic records, or such other criteria as the college sees fit.

Students may not register for more than 18 credit hours a semester or seven credit hours in the summer session without permission from an academic dean or vice president. Students uncertain about the course load appropriate in their particular circumstances are also urged to contact their College Advisor.
