MARV DYSON - Broadcasting Executive

Marv Dyson is an alumnus of Kennedy King College and one of the most respected names in broadcasting. He literally shaped the voice of urban radio in Chicago—a voice that was later imitated, but not duplicated, in other cities across the country.  Dyson has worked for such media giants as: Atlas Communications, Johnson Publishing Company, Gannett Inc., Chancellor Media, Evergreen Media, AMFM Radio Inc., and most recently Clear Channel Radio, the world's largest media company.

Marv Dyson may be known best for his lengthy stint as General Manager of WGCI AM/FM and V-103. He now has joined the KKC family by taking a position with the City Colleges of Chicago. Dyson will assist with strategic planning and revenue development for radio station WKKC-89.3FM and television station WYCC-TV20.

Dyson was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Radio Broadcasters of Chicago; was named the Broadcast Advertising Club of Chicago's Person of the Year in 2003; and was among the top ten "Best Radio General Managers in America" from 1999 to 2003 as defined by Radio Inc. magazine.
