The library is closed in the interim between terms.

Reference
Kennedy-King College Library has a large collection to help answer factual questions on the spot. Reference books include encyclopedias, dictionaries, statistics, atlases, and critical and informational resources in many subjects. The librarian on duty at the Reference Desk is available to help you find the appropriate reference book to help answer your question(s). The Library also has online, or electronic, reference sources which the librarian can point out.

Circulation Services
Borrowing Circulating Books and Reserve Materials

Circulating books (indicated by "Stacks" in the Online Catalog) may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by presenting a current student ID. You may check out four books at once. The loan period is two weeks; books may be renewed before the due date, one time for an additional two weeks.
When the Library is open, books can be returned to the Circulation Desk. When the Library is closed, books can be placed in the book drop (outside the entrance) any time the building is open. Overdue Fines

Reserve Materials (indicated by "Reserve" in the Online Catalog) may be requested at the Circulation Desk and checked out for two hours, three days, or seven days. Professors place books on Reserve for their classes, and Librarians place heavily used books on Reserve. Overdue Fines

Vertical File Materials
Pamphlets are located in the Vertical File. Ask a Librarian to help locate an appropriate pamphlet for your subject. The loan period for these materials is either two hours or three days. Overdue Fines

Renewing
Books and materials can be renewed in person or by phone. Books and materials can be renewed one time if renewed before the date due. If the book has a barcode in it, just call the Circulation Desk at 773.602.5449 to renew by phone, and have your student ID ready.

Periodical Services
Magazines, Journals, and Newspaper subscriptions

Photocopy Machines
KK students learning how to use the photocopy machineThere are two public photocopy machines available. The charge is 15 cents per page. Copy cards are available to all current students. By adding money to the copy card, the charge per page drops to 10 cents.

Microfilm Machines - Microfilm copying is also available at 10 cents a page.
