Due to license agreements most of these Journal and Newspaper Articles may only be used from Library computers.

Each database provides a help screen for searching tips. Librarians are available to assist you with your research.


Journal Articles Online

ProQuest:
The ProQuest® online information service provides access to thousands of current periodicals and newspapers, many updated daily and containing full-text articles from 1986.

* search all collections at once, or just the newspaper collection
* you can choose your type of search:
  1. the basic search
  2. the focused search
  3. searching by topic, from "Arts and Humanities" through "Sports and Entertainment"
    and
  4. browsing through subject lists from "Animal Shelters" to "Zoology"
* online help and training is available

EBSCO Host:
Provides citations, abstracts, and full text for a large selection of periodical literature (journals, magazines, and newspapers).
  • Choose one or more of the six databases that cover all fields.
  • You can Limit Your Search by checking the Full Text box so your results show only full text articles.
  • First timers, start with the "Academic Search Elite."
  • Click on "more info" for tips on searching.
  • Click on Exit Program when you are finished.
EBSCO Vocational & Career Collection

OCLC FirstSearch
FirstSearch is a multi-database reference tool which provides access to a wide range of resources to meet your information needs. Over 9,000 print and electronic journals are included containing full-text articles.

Choosing a full-text database:
  • Choose your databases by clicking "List by Topic," and then selecting a "Topic Area" (such as Education or Medicine).
  • Select up to three databases that display the yellow square under "Full Text" and de-select the databases which do not.
  • After selecting databases, the search dialog box will appear for you to type in your term.
  • Click the "select" button to display your results.
  • When you are finished, click the "Home" selection on the left of the page [and then the Home button at the top of the browser]
