College Programs

Kennedy King College offers six degree programs:

  • Associate in Arts (A.A.)
  • Associate in Science (A.S.)
  • Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)
  • Associate in General Studies (A.G.S.)
  • Associate in Fine Arts (A. F. A.)


Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) General Education Core Curriculum

The City Colleges of Chicago is an active participant in the statewide Illinois Articulation Initiative (]Al). The mission of the IAI is to facilitate transfer for students among Illinois colleges and universities. This General Education Core will be acceptable in transfer at most Illinois institutions for students who intend to transfer from one institution to another in pursuit of baccalaureate degrees. Business and Industry Services

The Department of Business and Industry Services at Kennedy-King College recognizes the need for training and development of the workforce. We provide effective and affordable training services designed to meet your company’s needs.

Business and Industry Services’ training programs are uniquely designed to contribute to the success and advancement of your organization by assisting in the development of your employees, whether entry level or management.

Continuing Education

Kennedy-King College offers an extensive continuing education and community services program in traditional and non traditional methods for adults 18 years of age and older regardless of their educational background. In addition, special interest courses are given through the Center for Lifelong Learning for children and adults of all ages. These courses are flexible in terms of format, topic, length of time, and fees.

Transfer Programs

If you plan to transfer to a four year college or university please check with your school of intent (transfer school) and inquire about additional sources of financial aid that apply only to that institution.

Career Programs

Specialized courses for students who intend to enter immediate employment or upgrade their professional and technical skills. Courses are offered in business, computer technology, culinary arts, broadcasting, theater, air conditioning and refrigeration, automotive technology, electronics, graphic communications, dental hygiene, nursing, child development, and mental health. Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree or a Certificate of Completion.

 

Dawson Technical Institute

Dawson Technical Institute (DTI) is a  campus of  Kennedy-King College. DTI offers an educational delivery system that includes comprehensive training programs and academic support services geared towards meeting the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students.

 

Washburne Culinary Institute

washburne chefsWashburne Culinary Institute’s mission is to offer affordable, high quality, competency based education to develop skilled graduates of Certificate and Associate’s Degree programs prepared for immediate employment. We offer a culturally and ethnically diverse learning environment that is responsive to the needs of students, staff and Chicago’s foodservice and hospitality industry.
