Veterans' Affairs Office (Room 2E60)
The Veterans' Affairs Office is approved by the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs State Approving Agency. For additional information relating to DVA administered programs, please contact the Office of Veterans' Affairs.
The Veterans' Affairs Office will assist qualified veterans in securing benefits needed to meet their educational goals. Veterans enrolled in the college will have the "Enrollment Certification" form prepared on their behalf to ensure payment from the Veterans' Administration in a timely manner.
Payments to veterans are based upon the following:

Veterans Programs
Illinois Veterans' Grant Program: Veterans residing in the state of Illinois at the time of entering the Armed Forces or who were bonafide residents until at least six months prior to entering the service and returned to the state of Illinois within six months after leaving the service and have resided in the state for at least one year immediately prior to making application for a scholarship may qualify for Illinois Veterans' Grant. These scholarships cover tuition and selected fees. Interested full time or parttime students who are veterans should contact the Veterans' Affairs Office for additional information.
Illinois MIA / POW Scholarship: This scholarship is a tuition scholarship for student dependents of Illinois prisoners of war and servicemen missing in action.
Illinois National Guard / Naval Militia Scholarship: Members of the Illinois National Guard or Naval Militia, having served for at least one year, are eligible for a scholarship which pays tuition and appropriate fees.
Illinois Army National Guard: The Illinois Army National Guard is open to all students. Persons participating in the state program receive free tuition and fees in return for service in the National Guard.
The only stipulations are that the person must be in the National Guard for one year before receiving the tuition or fee waiver and the person must fulfill a sixyear obligation whether they remain in school or not. The drill requirements are one weekend per month and 15 days annual training during the summer. Vocational Rehabilitation: A veteran may be eligible for benefits if she or he incurred or aggravated a service connected disability on or after September 16, 1940, which entitles him or her to DVA disability compensation, and is in need of vocational rehabilitation because his or her disability creates an employment handicap.
Disabled veterans are encouraged to contact the DVA office nearest them to obtain detailed information and to request approval to participate.
Veterans' Registration Information: Veterans with an approved Illinois Veterans' Grant, National Guard or a Vocational Rehabilitation form will be granted a tuition deferment for registration.
