Mission Statement

Washburne Culinary Institute’s mission is to offer high quality, competency based education through Certificate and Associate Degree programs that prepare our students with skills for immediate employment. Since we are part of the City Colleges of Chicago, our comparatively low tuition makes Washburne the most affordable culinary program in the City of Chicago. We offer a culturally and ethnically diverse learning environment that is responsive to the needs of students, staff and Chicago’s foodservice and hospitality industry. Continuing education in culinary and baking and pastry arts and sciences at our South Shore Cultural Center campus affords professionals and food enthusiasts the opportunity for career advancement and cultural enrichment, and serves the needs of the community, industry, and workforce.
